Clergymen That Support The Home

WORDS FROM A PASTOR

Why do I come to Home With A Heart?  Simply, I believe God has directed me to be involved with this ministry in this way.  I can see how God is using this program to influence and change the lives of many men. From these changed lives, I believe the next step is to build strong marriages and families. This is my contribution to the overall work of Home With A Heart.

I hope and pray that something we teach or discuss with the men will have enough of an impact on them to make a difference in the way they think and relate in the important relationships in their lives. It has been a joy for me to have a small part in what you are doing so well.  God Bless you.

Your life is God's Gift to you. What you do with your life is Your Gift to God!

Rev. James Ervin

My name is James Ervin Dyar. I was born December 23, 1959. 1 am the pastor of Red Hill Baptist Church in Pickens, South Carolina. I have been a Christian since March of 1972). 1 have been in the ministry since March of 1980. During my years of ministry, I have had some wonderful opportunities and met some very precious people.

Some of the precious people I have met in my years of ministry are:

Danny Barnes -  Former Director of Faith Home (A Facility for Recovering Alcoholics) in Greenwood, South Carolina

Richard Gardner - Director of the Good Samaritan Colony (A Facility for Recovering Alcoholics and Drug Addicts) in Mount Croghan, South Carolina

John Brock - Former Director of the Home With A Heart

For the past several years I have been working with the Home With A Heart on a volunteer basis. Home With A Heart's eight week recovery program is Bible-based and Christ-centered.  Since the Home With A Heart is a Bible-based and Christ-centered facility, I am delighted to be a part of this ministry.

Robert McGee is probably best known for his book The Search for Significance, which has done a masterful job with Dale McCleskey on the study Conquering Chemical Dependency (First Steps to a Christ-Centered 12- Step Process). It is my joy to get to go to the Home With A Heart on Friday afternoons to teach the Conquering Chemical Dependency (First Steps to a Christ-Centered 12- Step Process). Many people do not see any link between the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Bible; however, when we look at Conquering Chemical Dependency (First Steps to a Christ-Centered 12- Step Process) we find there are many links to the 12 steps.

If you are looking for a place to: break the cycle of addiction, invest financially or give of some of your time voluntarily, Home With A Heart is a great place to start.

Because of Christ,

Rev. James Ervin Dyar
